BATTLE REPORT: February 12, 2016
Eldar (Steve & Alex) vs. Dark Angels (Tito & Josh)
1500 pts., Eternal War - The Relic Mission; Dawn of War deployment
Steve's House
Autarch Eolon led an Eldar taskforce to stop a Dark Angel mechanized strike team from recovering an important piece of equipment from a manufacturing facility on Pyrriah. The Dark Angels proved successful in securing the equipment with well placed drop pod insertions and supporting fire from Razorbacks, Predators, and Vindicators. Despite pinning fire from Eldar rangers that infiltrated close to the entrance of the manufacturing facility, a team of Dark Angels snuck in and extracted the equipment. The Eldar almost blocked their escape with a barrage of fire from war walkers and a wraith lord, as well as two devastating casts of Eldritch Storm by the Eldar Farseer. But the Dark Angels held fast and carried the equipment to their line. Eldar, however, drew first blood and line breaker to narrow the game to a 3-2 loss. A team of Fire Dragons also managed to incinerate a Predator with a quick insertion by a wave serpent. The team was soon decimated, however, by a counter attack of a nearby Ravenwing bike squad. The Eldar's cause was hampered by the Autarch's decision not to bring more troops to the battle, since his squad of Swooping Hawks never really got into the fight and a squad of Guardian Defenders was obliterated in turn two by a drop pod of tactical marines with flamers and a deep striking Terminator squad (which in turn got on the wrong side of wraith guard D-scythe templates). The Eldar's cause was also hampered by the inability of a Crimson Hunter air support unit to get on the board until late turn three. Steve's woes with air traffic control continue...

BATTLE REPORT: January 29, 2016
Daemon Orks (Steve) vs. Black Templars (Trevor)
2000 pts., Maelstrom Tactical Escalation Mission; Hammer & Anvil Deployment
Steve's House
Game to test out Steve's list before the Las Vegas Open 2016 narrative event. Steve quickly found out his list had no answer for three AV14 Land Raiders. Plus, the two Vindicators in Trevor's list blasted Steve's ork boyz to bits. On the upside, Lootas and the traktor cannon did what they were supposed to do and took out the BT flyers. Unfortunately, only two of three of the ork flyers did what they were supposed to do and got on the table. The third apparently got distracted elsewhere and never came in. In the end, Trevor's BT took the day, although persistent Nurgle orks and sneaky grots almost won it for Steve.
